This comic was made for the "Tome of Psionics". Which was originally to be a replacement for the 3.0 psionics, I was in talks with WOTC through Anthony Vaultera (? I can't remember) to do much more than publish as 3rd party under the OGL. Nope, this was to be "OFFICIAL" 3.0 D&D content.
It was almost a done deal, when an illegal alien broke into the apartment next to mine to squat. He'd ripped into the wall and Jerry rigged my electricity for his use. Then the guy plugged in an electric space heater, set it to Max, and went to sleep. When I got off work...
My apartment and everything in it was burnt down.
(What followed next was almost twenty years of struggle for the support, time, and resources to publish this book!)
I lost the WOTC book deal. I lost everything. I became homeless and struggled for close to two years.
I entered the military (*Three Hots and a cot) to get back on my feet.
