I am doing several Sherlock Holmes adaptations for ABDO publishing. Here are some of the covers. These are based on their design approval and not the final versions. But I thought I'd share them just the same. This one is SHERLOCK HOLMES and the BLUE CARBUNCLE.
I've never read this story but if I had to guess as to the culprit, the duck ... as to the art, your work is always amazing, but what I'd really have loved to have seen is the painting rendered completely. Its a lovely dress detail. Beautiful stuff all around.
Thanks for comments. I appreciate it. My original take was to be more classical but they wanted him to skew younger ( guess because of the movie). Also you will notice no weapons or smoking is allowed. Too bad. I love Holmes and his pipe.
